How do I begin? Let's start with the title of this new blog. KOREAN AMERICAN ADOPTEE. It's funny, I do not at all walk around addressing myself as a Korean American nor Korean American Adoptee. Don't get me wrong, people have always asked what or where I am from and I would always respond with, "from Korea..oh yes, South Korea but adopted". It never sounded 'PROUD'' or 'STRONG'' like in this title. So, I may start here, and say proudly, I am a Korean American Adoptee! And perhaps, I may eventually say it to my family, friends, and neighbors with equal strength.

I am not a stranger to have written my thoughts down in the past but this way to communicate by 'blogging' is all so so new to me. I am going to just run with this and see where it may take me and how it may reach you. I have been thinking about this blog for some time and hope that it will allow me to connect with other Adoptees and to hear their stories as I hope to share my experiences, thoughts and dreams.

I can't come up with words that can express how I felt reading your blog(your story) You are truly and amazing person. Your husband is a gift to you. I know I don't know you for long but after reading this I feel like I known you forever. Mirtha

Thank you! It was not an easy decision to do this project but decided I should not let my fears and insecurities decide for me. I am grateful that I always had people that came in and out of my life who has encouraged me to write about my life. Let's see where this takes me and the readers!

My name is Catherine and I wanted to let you know that I love your blog. I especially love the second part of your title: Home is Within. Our backgrounds are different, but I can relate as an Asian American living in Asia. My parents are Taiwanese, but I was born and raised in the United States. I've lived in Taiwan for two years now and during this time I've often felt out of place here, just as I do back in the US from time to time, and wondered if there is ever any place I'll feel truly at home. But home truly is within and being with the people you love, who love you in return. Thank you for writing such a beautiful and illuminating blog.

catherine, I tried to visit your sites and add to google followers but had a hard time. I don't know if the problem is from my end? I wanted to write there that you have interesting blogs! Both tells us different aspects of yourself and your life. Just wanted to note, we are cat people too:) Have a few! And as you can see ( my husband & I) that we have mixed children. People tend to stop and look twice since they don't look full asian. I will try to go back to add comments there:)
